Kids Can Win!
By becoming part of the Kids Jury and voting for their favourite Canadian kids television program, your child could win!
By simply submitting a vote, your child will be entered for a chance to win a $2,500 scholarship. All they have to do is view 2-3 finalist programs and their associated websites, and select their favourite. Simple!
We love creativity! Have your child create a short video explaining why they voted for their favourite show, send it in through the program screening site and the child with the most creative video vote will win an iPad and a trip to Ottawa!
Details about contests can be found on the program screening site.
About the Prize
Creating a successful television program and the supporting digital content for kids is no easy task, which is why the Shaw Rocket Fund rewards the best of the best! As part of our commitment to quality children's television and digital media production in Canada, we are proud to continue with the much celebrated Shaw Rocket Prize: a $50,000 winner take-all prize awarded to the producer of the best independently produced Canadian children's program. It represents one of the largest prizes of its kind in Canada!
We have two juries: An international jury of key individuals in the children’s television community from around the world and the national kids jury. The programs that your child screens have been shortlisted by the international jury (the finalist programs). The kids get the final say which program wins the grand prize of $50,000!
Both juries will be judging the related digital content (websites, games, etc.) as well as the television program. This ensures that the win will be based on your child’s the total viewing experience. Kids expect it, and so should we!
The Shaw Rocket Prize is proud to promote Canada's best and showcase the great caliber of kids' shows made in this country, which is proven by the exceptional programming of our finalists and winners over the years.

About the Shaw Rocket Fund
The Shaw Rocket Fund is a forward-thinking, not-for-profit corporation that focuses on stimulating excellence in the Canadian children’s production industry through investment and various initiatives. We realize that entertainment for kids is a multi-platform experience where it has become part of their everyday lives. The Shaw Rocket Fund recognizes the growing importance of quality programming for Canadian children, and we continue to be a passionate champion so that our kids’ media experience is enhanced through quality programming.
In addition to supporting the production industry, we like to encourage the opinions of Canadian children about their entertainment media, so we involve them in various aspects of the Shaw Rocket Fund, such as our National Kids Jury for the Shaw Rocket Prize. We have also become proactive in our research to ensure that our kids are continuously getting the best programming possible - and this research would not be complete without the involvement of kids themselves. These initiatives will help us continue to be a champion of Canadian children’s programming and will increase the positive impact of our Canadian programs.
To date, the Shaw Rocket Fund has proudly invested $120 million towards high quality television programs and their associated digital media. Shaw Rocket Fund is supported by Shaw Communications, Shaw Pay Per View, a division of the Shaw Cablesystems, and Shaw Direct.
